Kaut isn’t a bust. They intentionally sent him down this year to preserve his elc.

I don't know why Montour to the Avs has become a thing on here lately, but I don't like it nor see a need for it

Stat watching is a terrible way to judge the talent level of a player.

The AHL this season is absolutely bananas as their lineups are half made up of career ECHL'ers due to the taxi squads. Guys like Bowers and Kaut aren't going to put up many points lugging a team of ECHL'ers on their back. I mean, the Colorado Eagles powerplay had Greg Pateryn as the point man which kinda says it all.

Good thing it isn't from this season since Kaut hasn't played an AHL game yet this year. AHL stats are from 2018-2019 / 2019-2020 when both him and Mitts played. Eagles had the 4th best record in the West last year.

I was making a general point. AHL scoring isn't always a good indicator for scoring prowess.

The vast majority of Kaut's points are primary points due to the way the Eagles play. He's a guy who elevates his play when he plays with better players, as seen at the WJC with Necas and Zadina, or in his 9 game NHL stint last season.

If he's to be considered a top prospect he needs really good production in the AHL. High picks not having great production in the AHL is a good predictor that they may not be that good ex. Alex Nylander, Lias Andersson, Jake Virtanen, Lawson Crouse, Zachary Senyshyn etc..

He had 3 points in 9 games in the NHL last season, that's no different from Mittelstadt when he was called up his first time. In fact, Mittelstadt performed better than Kaut did in the NHL while on a way worse team and you called him a bust lol. So what does that make Kaut.

Kaut hasn't even got his proper shot in the league yet, so it's kinda ridiculous to put him in the same category as those other players you listed.

Why is it ridiculous? All those guys are top picks that had meh production in the AHL comparable to Kaut.
