I'm not so sure about that...Chances of him being traded are going way up.

Why would they trade him? Jack is asking out if he wants to be moved until 2022 so he has some say where he would want to go.

I know this is asking for a lot on BUF's side, but Eichel is a proven near-Hart player. Vilardi and Byfield haven't done anything yet...there's no guarantee that the two of them ever combine for Eichel's numbers.

I like LAK's young centers...

Vilardi + Turcotte + 2 1sts?

What would be your BUF-LAK Eichel trade proposal?

Why would they trade him? Because he is disgruntled with all the losing.

" Jack is asking out if he wants to be moved until 2022 so he has some say where he would want to go."

I don't know what this part means. He doesn't have a NMC, so he doesn't really have a say. Plus LA would be an attractive destination. Why wouldn't he want to go to LA?

I feel bad for you guys, truly. Great hockey town, great fans, but you guys are losing constantly with one of the best players in the league. Eventually he'll want to play in the playoffs. I don't see him staying in Buff just to lose like this every year.

Right, but he doesn’t want to be traded to other bad teams like the Rangers and the Kings. He won’t be moved if he wants until 2022.

His no movement clause kicks in 2022. So say in 2022 a bad team like Ottawa makes an offer sabres accept it, jack can veto the trade.

"His no movement clause kicks in 2022."

Right. So, they can trade him now to any team they want...What's your point?

They can right now, but they shouldn’t trade him.

Should vs. shouldn't is immaterial.

If he wants out...Sabres will trade him.

Plus, as a diehard Sabres fan, I'm not so sure about the "shouldn't part"...

Reasons to trade Jack:
- Not winning with him
- Not winning anytime soon with him
- By the time the Sabres will be any good (if ever), Jack will probably be 26-28...
- Better off trading a disgruntled player than having him in the locker room

He shouldnt be asking at this point is the point. Now, if ottawa for instance, offered tkachuk, and firsts this year and next, jack could spend the next 5 years playing out his contract in ottawa. Whereas if he waits til next year and his ntc lists all canadian teams, well thats probably better for him. The sabres would likely never trade him unless he asked out, so the timing matters specifically for him, and possibly for buffalo if it means taking a lesser package because fewer teams are bidding.

Why shouldn't he be asking? He's wasting his prime years on a perpetually losing team....

The whole point of this (and other) Eichel trade proposals is because the hockey world is talking about it now

Ill play. All of this is possibly correct, but it really matters what the return is. If its a decent haul of high value prospects/picks, it could break our way. If, as every other fan base has convinced themselves, jack is pried free with the 5th, 6th, and 7th best prospects another team has, plus pick 31 in a very weak draft- you see where this is going.

This year is on him though thats the difference. Theyre relying on him for 5v5 scoring, thats why they got Hall too and neither are holding up their end of the deal. If Eichel and Hall matched their 5v5 scoring from the last few seasons, Buffalo would be in the top 4

Yea, that's why I put up this trade proposal. If the Sabres do another ROR, that would be terrible.

What would your BUF-LAK trade proposal be?...assuming Jack is traded.

Jack, im sorry things didnt work out in buffalo, enjoy the next 5 years in ottawa. Thats why. Besides csick i dont even know if sens fans read this, im not throwing stones, im pointing out that jack contractually has more leverage to play on a better team where he wants, next year

Yep...and time is running out. Just ran some numbers, Sabres need probably around 55 points in 42 remaining games to get to top 4....in the division. Not very likely to happen.

After another season of losing, is Eichel going to be up for another "maybe next year" offseason? I really don't know...

Start with byfield. If hes completely off the table- turcotte, kaliyev, faygemo and an unprotected 22 first. Top of my head.
