Very curious to see Bahl. He's massive, and looked really solid as a junior, but I'm worried about his foot speed at the NHL level.

Overall, really good list.

Only things I would change are moving McCarthy, Moynihan, and Talvitie up by one and Bahl down one

It's been fun watching Zacha develop into one of the best young 2 way centers in the league. He really is underrated

these are some pretty generous rankings.
I don't think Alexander is elite. Top 6 forward, yeah probably, but elite, come on now.
It kind of goes down hill from there.

He is massive. His skating is good, speed is ok, long powerful stride, deceptive because of size. But he has some things to work on (like getting puck on net from point). Probably needs at least full year at AHL. I wouldn't be surprised to see Okhotyuk get a call up sooner. They aren't going to rush Bahl. I'd say ETA is mid-next season.

Yes, on some nights he looks like #6 overall pick. There are other nights too. If he can get some consistency, and win some faceoffs, he'd be one of the better 3C's. Sharangovich and McLeod are really pushing him for that spot.

Talvitie I am not sold on. Moynihan feels to me like lower ceiling, longer career type (ie, 10+ years in bottom six).

McCarthy is really tough. He could become their best shut-down d-man from right-side. And he plays with a chip, something Devils could use. But the lack of offense keeps him middle-pair or bottom-pair for me.

A physical, shut-down duo of Okhotyuk/McCarthy as bottom-pair wouldn't be a terrible thing.

Sweet list and I gotta say I like your categorical definitions more than mine lol. As comparison I would've put Lundkvist/Kravtsov in your Tier II, and I would've given Holtz an A+ grade using my scale (instead of an A like I gave Nils and Kravs)

Was the biggest piece in Taylor Hall trade. Big dude and skates pretty well for his size. Physical player. Can actually move the puck pretty well. Has some holes such as gap control, and I think some concern about shot release from the point. He is not likely to be a top-pair guy, probably a #3 or #4. Has played mostly left side, but some time on right side, especially with Okhotyuk (another beast and Bahls former junior teammate from 67s).

Sounds like a player that might not shine in the regular season but in the post season will be invaluable. Thats a solid pickup. Have zero idea why ur GM that made the trade (blanking on the name right now) got fired. I know the devils had struggled the past few years but I think that was more coaching than anything. Do you have some insight here?

Ray Shero was GM
John Hynes was coach

They were not a great match. Shero wanted to build around speed. Hynes wanted defensive style of hockey. Neither were in sync with players.

Now they have two former players running the show. Hopefully better results.

I am really excited with Smith, Bahl, Mukhamadullin, Misyul, Vukojevic, Okhotyuk, and maybe Groleau on the left side.
