Easy pass for the Devils. Value isn't there and Devils rather keep Murray. Butcher is available but I doubt Boston is interested

We like Bjork.
We think we like Bjork.
Or we think Fitzy likes Bjork.
So...would probably be just Bjork for Murray. Add a mid-round pick if $$ retained.

You have the right idea, but the value of the package isn't there. I'd say swap the picks or just get rid of NJ's pick in general.

I like Murray's game, but his ability to stay healthy is very concerning. I'd prefer someone else as a rental with Murray as a fallback option. It just makes me wonder if the Bruins were to make a long playoff run, how much can Murray handle all the high paced action hits and block shots?

Health is a concern but you don't really have many other good options. He's probably the only guy with a great defensive game and above-average puck skills while being able to play top4 minutes. Other available d-men are mostly defensive-minded. On the back end, the Bruins only have McAvoy and Grzelcyk who are great offensively. Zboril is their 3rd option on PP/OT, he hasn't been bad but he has limited experience. Moore/Clifton are average or so. Who are your targets?

Well #1- I don't even think Murray will get traded for NJ. I'm assuming they're holding onto him. If he's available then he'd be up there for potential targets, but I wouldn't say he's my absolute #1

I like acquiring Hjarmalsson out of Arizona, he brings a defensive first game and tons of experience. I like Edler out of Vancouver for same reasons. If Dallas somehow doesn't make it, maybe Jamie Oleksiak. If Minnesota doesn't make it- Ian Cole.

I think I'd be interested in Hjarmalsson, Edler, and Oleksiak before thinking about Murray because they bring experience and possibly great leadership. But it's still insanely hard to tell if these teams would be willing to move any of these guys. We truly don't know out of these players which teams are already out of the running for playoffs. Vancouver is playing very bad so they could maybe be sellers...but are they trading life long Canuck Alex Edler? We'll get a better idea closer to the TDL, but the options are very slim. I'm also talking about acquiring a pure rental here, one who expires after this season.

If Bruins want to acquire someone more long term, then they should be all in for Ekholm. I personally prefer a rental like those guys I mentioned. I think the only ones who are more than likely are guaranteed to be on the market: Patrik Nemeth and Ian Cole. I wouldn't be crazy acquiring Nemeth but Ian Cole could interest me.

Here are my priorities as of right now:
PLAYER/ AVAILABLE?
1) Edler/ TBD
2) Oleksiak/ TBD
3) Hjarmalsson/ TBD
4) Murray/ TBD
5) Cole/ TBD
6) Goligoski/ TBD
7) Merrill/ YES
8) Nemeth/ YES
9) Oesterle/ TBD
10)M. Staal/ YES

I personally would rather acquire a shutdown guy with experience vs an offensive type dman at the TDL if they were to hypothetically drop Lauzon down to the third pairing.

You would really do Murray for Bjork straight up? Boston should do that in a heartbeat but I'm sure you can get more elsewhere. Still think they are going to stand pat on LD.

Maybe. If NJD are out of playoffs, Murray not re-signing, and our GM likes bjork.
I’d first ask for Lohrei

That's a good ask. I would say no. Never seen the player and heard it was a big reach when he was drafted but wouldn't risk his potential yet.

USHL is a far better league this year than last year (with many of the better NCAA kids playing and many new international prospects joining the league) and Lohrei playing well.

Ryan Murray for Lohrei straight up, no picks.
Sami Vatanen (a bit more offense, can play both RD and LD) for Victor Bergland and late conditional pick
Dmitry Kulikov (more of 3rd pair defensive d-man) for lesser prospect/pick

That is all we got on rental LD

Bruins reject easy. Dont want a rental LHD... They said it

Also the value is bad, he is a rental. Bjork is a solid middle 6 guy (too bad the bruins cant play him there)

See as 4th liner/PK type right now. Turns puck over too much, bad penalties, not a finisher. The effort is there. Maybe just needs more time/experience.
