Teddy Bluegr is really good. Pittsburgh won’t be trading him.

The Pens are making a push for the playoffs this season so I think he’s untouchable. But there are other 3Cs like Cizikas/Bonino/Lowry/Larsson who may fit TOR nicely.

Isles will probably re-sign cizikas

Bottom 6 player for a bottom 6 player and a 2nd. Yes, not saying I wouldn’t do it but it is an overpay. I don’t expect blueger to keep up his current production.

This agm isn’t about them... it’s about blueger. What would they be looking for in a return?

First off Blueger is a young developing C second off we aren’t tradin C right now unless we are getting a better one and last of all that’s an UNDERPAY a late second rounder and a guy who is bottom 6 Blueger could develop to be 1C

Overpay? Really? I wouldn’t even trade Bluegar for kerfoot, so pens definitely wouldn’t move him for an extra F and a 2nd

I would say Abramov + 1st. Cuz he’s on league minimum & checks all the boxes as a 3C.

Bottom 6 guys don’t get huge returns. 2nd and a younger replacement (not saying he is as good) is a steep price. I like blueger defensive game. We both know he won’t continue to put up points at this clip.

That's an oversimplification of two players at very different spots in their careers. Teddy is playing 15+ minutes a night, getting more ice time every game and our best penalty killing forward. Trading a 4th line winger and 2nd for a 3rd line center isn't an overpayment.

3rd line centre at the moment... yes Engvall is a natural centre. He also is a decent penalty killer. Not as good defensively as blueger. That is what I’m paying the 2nd for. Offensively they are very close.

That will be an expensive 4th line C. Not that he is one but with the C depth on NYI why wouldn’t he want to look into FA

I think based off of Goodrow last year, a legit contender would pony up a late first for Bluegar. He checks too many boxes for a contending team and is dirt cheap. Pens wouldn’t even considering moving him unless it’s an overpay like that.

But again, you are asking what it would take to get a 3rd line center off a contending team, one that is still looking to add another center because their 4th line sucks. So the answer is more than a 4th liner and a 2nd round pick.

They got a 3rd back in that deal. But that’s reasonable.

He’s making 3.35 mill right now - I guess it depends on if teams see him as a 3C. I can see him getting 2.5 mill x 3-4 years.
