That is going to be a quick no from Winnipeg my friend. Lowry is too valuable, the return isn't great and he will likely be re-singing in Winnipeg even though he is UFA at years end.

Winnipeg is going on their own cup run they won't trade lowry especially considering a month ago they had a center shortage.

Jets need Lowry now, so they aren't trading him for that .
Leafs need Kerfoot at centre, not getting another winger

Are you counting Malgin, the guy who already has 192 games of NHL experience, as a prospect here? He's not good and adds zero value.

This is very far from what an actual Forsberg trade would look like -- especially with that kind of retention. You've gotta give to get...

I disagree that the Jets need Lowry. Isn't he their 4th line center now? Why would they need him when they have Scheifele - Dubois - Stasny and Copp can play center too

His 12 points in 18 games, seems to indicate that he better than Vesey and Engvall. So why would the win now Jets trade him for supposedly inferior players?

need Engvall and Vesey even less, centers can always be moved to wing, goal is to ice the best team possible and that trade doesn’t help at all

Dear Mathews Dynasty.....good try but not even close..LOL You want Forsberg ....Its First round pick. Top prospect to that one of Robertson, Sadin, or Amirov then a B level Prospect Hirvonen, hallander And roster player Kerfoot only because of Salary and even then Nas would have to retain 1.5 so add Envall....its a tough trade either way. I think Granlund is the better option.

He's their 3rd line C and plays a big shut down/physical/PK game...very important to the jets, plus like someone already said will most likely re-sign. To answer your question, they "need" him cause all 3 of Stastny, PLD and Copp have played wing this season. Jets have depth and they arent gonna deal it to a in division team, especially when the return is that

Lowry is the mainstay on the third line. He is the primary defensive conscience and physical presence on the team.

The value is off. Not only does it not address a team need (D) but it makes Winnipeg worse and Toronto better.

Unless there is a plan to circumvent the expansion draft, he will be re-signed and protected. He is one of 2 players on the Jets whose father is a coach in the organization.

prob gotta add sandin. brooks & malgin are border line nhl players. kerfoot has been ok and had his ups and downs this year. So the trade rn its an overpaid 3c, 2 border line nhl prospects, and a 1st & 2nd for their best player half retained for 1.5 years

I really find so many of posts having any of the Preds coming to the Leafs kinda foolish. The Leafs would have to subtract from their lineup just for cap purposes, so the short term net gain isn't that great, and the long term by giving up future isn't good for the Leafs. Surely there are other teams....especially USA non quarantine teams would have a greater need for Forsberg, Arvidsson or Granlund than the Leafs.

I still say "why do the Leafs do it?" You lose the needed Kerfoot whose plays centre. And to give up Sandin, who will be needed next year as Bogosian, Lehtonen, be UFAs and that might lose on one of Holl or Dermot to Seattle. So I can't understand this obsession with getting forward...yea Forsberg would be the best player in the deal, when it takes away from the current centre position and certainly futures.
