JT Miller is the last guy that Van should be moving.

Yeah no chance. He’s one of the best players on the team and under a low cap hit for 2 more seasons. Why would they trade him for bits and pieces?

Miller is on a pretty solid contract for them -- even if they sell, I can't see them moving him.

My bad, I was going under the assumption that those guys are untouchable. 100% though. I just don't see any point in Vancouver moving Miller, when he's on a very team friendly contract and continues to produce. If they moved him, they wouldn't find that type of production anywhere else for that price.

They also have cap problems for next season with a thin lineup. Canucks fans dismissing the possibility outright aren't thinking long term

This was the same issue with Max Pacioretty's bargain deal and the Habs traded him almost too late but somehow got that deal with Vegas. Trading Miller now would be prudent but I don't trust Benning to make this deal. Miller's dysfunction isn't helping the team. This is the third team he's wearing out his welcome.

That's where you think they should shave money? By downgrading significantly from JT to Debrusk and Bjork? You're not even saving them any money, you're just taking a good player, and changing him into 2 bottom 6 forwards, then adding a late 2nd as a thank you, while you smile at how hard you just kicked them in the nuts. Personally, I'd rather have JT, and then a mediocre player on an ELC, which would essentially cost the exact same.

No i don't take this deal. I said the possibility of trading Miller. You said he's the last guy they should trade. I never said anything about those pieces

Sorry, I clarified after that I went under the assumption that Pettersson, Hughes, Boeser and Horvat are untouchable. Not including them was my mistake.

Vancouver's biggest mistake was assuming that Holtby could bounce back and be a capable 1B with Demko. Now they're in a situation where Seattle isn't likely to take him, which leaves them in a tough spot.

VAN is not moving Miller, they are having a bad year but he is season removed from a MVP caliber season.
