I know people will most likely tear me to shreds in the comments on this one, but I honestly think this would be the best thing that could happen to the blue line for Winnipeg. It would be hard for the Panthers to accept, yet that is why I have the price so steep to get Ekblad.

Pardon? We take a decent LD/RD punch of Morrissey and Pionk and turn it into a horrid left side? If we were to get Ekblad, it wouldn't be trading our top LD

Ekblad is the last player Zito would trade, his NMC kicks in this summer. Noway he's dealt before and i doubt he'd have any interest in playing in Winnipeg anyways.
