I mean, I wouldn't accept a late 1st and a 3rd for Rakell, so I hope he's not one of us.

This is an odd one, like the first trade you could probably easily just ship the players off individually and make it more worth while, then the second one lowballs, and it also doesn’t make sense because Keslers contract is insured

Sorry Joshua, you don't know how LTIR works. It's really meaningless. You've just given the Ducks two NHLers and the Leafs get nothing in return.
And certainly Rakell isn't that special. where the Leafs give up two picks. Just spend that 3.8m on a UFA and keep the picks.

Combine both trades together and try and explain to me how it is bad for the ducks...

Well, the first one seems like an uninformed attempt at creating magical cap space, so I'm not sure why anyone would even bother to take it seriously. I was looking at the second trade, which doesn't make sense for the Ducks.

Well that all depends on the market. Would probably be a 1st and decent prospect.

Could actually see them targeting a player like rackell.

Yeah, with retention, I'd do it for a 1st and a good prospect. I don't really feel like there's any urgency to the Ducks moving him though, unless they're getting a solid return. Should be a decent market at this point. especially after the last 6 or so games. Eakins finally put him on a line with a bit of talent, and it's paying off.
