I don't think I've seen anyone else have Pastujov in the top 20, and likewise I know a lot of rankings that have Svozil in the top 20. Would love to have your thoughts on what you see in those two

I know he's falling on a bunch of different boards, but I really feel like Owen Power is going to be an absolute steal if he falls past 6 or 7. He's a friggin' monster.

Pastujov is an extremely smart guy. He has great hockey sense too. In the USNTDP or whatever the heck you call it, he has 68 points in 40 games. Yes, that is a stacked team, but he is more of a play driver rather than the one piggybacking off of others. I see him becoming easily a top 6 winger and I wouldn't be surprised if he eventually becomes a 1st liner.

I don't really understand the hype around Svozil. His play isn't really earth shattering. In the to Czech league he only has 3 points in 30 games which is solid for a youngster like him but just not 1st round material. This is a really tight draft so by the end of march he could crack the first round. 2 points in 3 games in the 2nd Czech league which is expected of a guy like him. If he starts producing a bit more, he will definitely be climbing my ranks. In the end of the day, He is probably a top 4 - middle pair Dman which is still great.

Those are my personal opinions on those two.

I think Clarke and Power are still good enough to both be top 5. I like Pastujov at 10 he's tearing up the NCAA. I think Olausson is a bit underrated and could be top 20 for sure.

I've never heard of Ville Koivunen, why do you think he's a first rounder?
Can someone explain why Eklund has jumped in the rankings so much? I feel like it was expected that he would do this well in the SHL.

1. Clarke rose 4 from my last rankings.
2. I was never that high on Power.
3. Pastujov isn't in the NCAA, he is in the USNTDP which he is tearing up. He is committed to Notre Dame though.
4. Dunno Man, Olausson couldn't produce in the world juniors, and I'd probably prefer Robertsson over him.
5. Ville Koivunen has a great skillset. 48 points in 37 games in Finland's U20 league.
6. I had Eklund low before because of his injury, but now that he's back and playing well, he's up at 2, the highest I've had him yet. 20 Points in 37 games in Sweden's top men's league, and he's just 18.

My opinions.

I'd say with Power's skill and size he's in contention for number one, similar story for Clarke except I like Clarke's game better. I meant the USNTDP for Pastujov but I was thinking about Kent Johnson so I wrote NCAA.

Props for putting Pastujov up so high, I think he’s a stud. I also love Florian Elias, so I’m glad he’s in there too. However, why do low on Power? I get he’s inconsistent right now, but his size and skill set should get him into the top 5 at least IMO.

Thank you for the Behrens respect ahaha. I would want Svozil higher and Wally than where they are. Not sure where I stand on Guenther, I need to see more

Yes! I'm high on Pastujov and I think he definitely deserves a top 10 spot. But I just think those other 6 guys are just simply better than Power.

Svozil isn't playing great right now. This is such a tight draft so I could see him moving up in no time. The only way I could bump ump Wally is if I moved Power to 8, and I would get grilled for that even though I'd actually do it in hindsight. I agree on Guenther. We need to see him play more this season, but for now, I think he holds a good argument to be top 5.

Wallstedt will not go higher than Askarov went. He has not looked great in the SHL this year, which this year is playing a lot more young players and is not as strong as past years. I have Wallstedt down around 20. He also was not great at WJC, numbers do not look bad but if you actually watched the games he did not look worthy of a top 10 pick. Add on the fact that he is a 2002

Wallstedt is better than Askarov. He has looked actually really good in the SHL. And I watched his world juniors game and he actually played good. Nothing earth shattering, but still really good. Who cares if he is a 2002.

Montreal seems pretty loaded up on the left side of their defense prospects( (Norlinder, Harris, Struble, Guhle - LH, RH) , and also right wing prospects of Caufield and Ylonen supporting their core RW (Anderson, Gallagher, Toffoli plays both sides). I know about BAP theory but in this short body of work year, I can't help but think need takes over for marginal calls. I suspect Centres will be repeatedly targeted by their draft team

I agree with you, but this is not team based. I will come out with a team based mock draft near the end of the month.
