fooling around with a Parise trade

Description
I'm not throwing around serious values - just would expect the wild to be shopping Parise and the only person I could picture interested is LL. which means Islanders. Just playing with cap's and what not. I know Clutterbuck a little and Ladd is a dead weight. How much Value doe Cizikas have to the Islanders?

Would the Islanders be crazy to do a move that free's up Ladd's contract and gets more use out of the cap space?

Isles not breaking up the fourth line mid season. Martin-Cizikas-Clutter have been a great line.

Ladd-Parise deal is probably dead now. Ladd only has two years after this one and a smaller cap hit. It doesn’t make sense anymore unless Parise was playing at a top-6 level. He’s more of a middle 6 player now and Isles have a lot of those guys.

Watch Parise go to the Isles and Immediately go into LTIR. Flight out there gave him a crippling, career ending injury. He must go to the Caribbean for rehab.

oh agree he's definitely been a 3rd line grinder, but his Defense numbers have been pretty bad without any productivity to make up for it. Just couldn't think of anyone who's shown interested in acquiring him the last few years.

Eh, but the only valuable part of the line is Cizikas ultimately, I think the best thing with the other two is they don't completely fail with tough deployment

Maybe switching Ciz for someone else makes it work?

Idk

I don’t think the Islanders trade Ladd for Parise straight up. And these three guys have played together for years. Martin and Clutter have been actually really damn good. If you put them anywhere else it won’t work and the value is lost.

It's a thought. that's why I started this. just wanted to see what spare parts equal the other teams spare parts. so to speak. But I did think Bonino would fit reasonably into the islanders schema

yeah I get that, but at the time the cap was expected to go up. With a flat cap there's almost no chance this trade happens, the isles have also been getting production from bellows and Wahlstrom, so now it really doesn't make sense.
