I know BUF can’t even be considered a team without Eichel... but that’s WAY too much

Ya way too much. Drop laf from the trade and it’s probably closer but I don’t think they would or should trade fox. I heard they wanted like 4 firsts or former firsts but this is too much IMO.

I would offer something like this and idk if any team would beat it:

Strome
Laf/kakko
Lundktvist
1st

Never in a million years, Fox is more valuable than Eichel at this point, and Laferiene is just getting started so hard no

I agree completely that there's no way the Rangers would do this. Buffalo fans believe the Rangers should trade much more than any other team for Eichel.

Truth is; With Zibanejad now playing like he did last season. With Strome putting up scoring numbers for the 3rd straight season - even without Panarin. With Chytil continuing to develop positively into a top 6 center. With Blackwell playing very well on the top 6 and being able to move over to his natural position - center if there's injuries. With Rooney being able to effectively be a top 9 center. With Howden's game always being loved and trusted by his coaches...

...The Rangers no longer have a need (as there seemed to be this last offseason) to acquire a center, let alone trade away many more top prospects and draft picks than any other team will end up offering for Eichel

I used to laugh at the complete absurdity of Zibanejad being listed in so many Eichel trade proposals on this site, now I find it really annoying. Buffalo is not looking to get back in return for Eichel a player like Zibanejad, they're looking for prospects and picks.

But even more ridiculous is that Zibanejad has a full no trade clause until he reaches becoming a UFA. The Rangers are never going to approach Zibanejad to waive his NTC and the Rangers are never going to trade him. So any trade proposal with Zibanejad listed on it should be immediately dismissed with having an absolute 0 percent chance of ever taking place.

They are the sellers so they start high.. they won’t get 4 first of value unless we somehow put troubas contract in it. It’s a kravtsov strome, Georgiev 1st? Or maybe another prospect likely not Schneider or nils.

Agreed LAF prob tips the scales here. Maybe swap him with Kakko or Chytil and it’s close

My favorite part of all this is that there is some reporting that there was an offer on the table last offseason (Friedman described it as "Pretty reasonable"), and it did not include any of Laff, Fox, Miller, or Kakko. Since that time, Eichel's price has only gone down. Friedman's also out there saying that LA's not interested in a deal and that it's really just Boston/NYR but Boston likely doesn't have the pieces/cap to get it done so it's really just us.

Couple that with the reporting yesterday about the ask being "4 1sts or former 1st round prospects/ELC players " from Sportsnet and the route becomes pretty clear to a deal: It's likely to be our 1st + Schneider + (The 1st + Top Prospect we'd get for trading Mika to a 3rd team). And really that's it.

Seems like a lot of the folks who are like "Rangers aren't getting it done with at least one of Kakko/Fox/Laff" are going to be disappointed. lol. Reminds me back when we all were talking about the ROR trade. It's a tough time to be a Sabres fan...

Yeah I'm no dummy, the rangers are playing pretty well with their current roster all things considered and have a lot of young talent. Trading for Eichel is not even worth it since the Sabres want an arm and a leg for him. There are clearly some really smart rangers fans who are realistic and some dummies who know nothing. If Eichel gets traded, it'll be to a team that's too desperate to know any better
