I'm higher on Clarke than I think most people are but noooooooooo.

We'll probably have to eat salary to move guys like Rico and Silvy but no way should we be eating any money to move Ricky. He's a legit target and makes pennies considering his value. And a big no thanks to bringing back Getzy at that number. We're finally going to be rid of his contract, let's not ruin it by overpaying him again. I get what his legacy means to the team but his game has dropped off a cliff and leadership even more so. It is absolutely time to move on.

Not a lot of teams have cap space especially contenders so retaining on Rakell might have to happen. But if he’s not retained on then it would allow ANA to retain on Manson and move him for a decent package. Getzlaf’s contract is perfectly fine. 1 yr deals that slowly go down in cap hit.

I'm mainly saying no because I don't want Henrique back. NJ needs to move on from the older core that they had throughout the 2010s. Trading a prospect that I think can be a good middle 6 scoring forward to someone from that old core back is a few steps backward imo.

Ricky makes less than 4 mil and is capable of 30 goals (though I'm starting to believe those two years were flukes). I can't imagine there isn't a team that would be willing to take on his contract in full. As for Getzy, it's not so much about squeezing him in but him being worth it. If we're going to be investing a decent amount for a center, I'd prefer it be for someone who actually gives a damn about winning and losing. It's time for this team to move on. I hope Getzy just retires.

Like hell he has. There is no fire in him at all. His team is a dumpster fire and he's playing like he's going through the motions when he's supposed to be the emotional leader of the team. Him sticking up for Terry last game was the most passion I've seen out of him in two years.
