That return for Zucker and Pettersson is bad. Miles Wood is barely more productive than Rodrigues. Not sure why you would trade a strong middle six winger like Zucker for them.

Virtanen is an expensive project player. The Pens are in a contending mode this season. Wasting cap space on him would be unwise.

MTL is up against the CAP, but such a player is not required.

I could see NJD interested in Pettersson
And Zucker if Palmieri walks.
But don't think they'd need to add both those picks.

VAN isn't going to give up on him like that. He's not as bad as the numbers say. People ragged on Josh Anderson last year too. Look how that turned out. Why would VAN want to repeat CBJs mistake?
They won't do that.

Completely disagree. It's already been reported numerous times that VAN has been aggressively shopping Virtanen for months, Virtanen was never as good as Anderson was pre-trade even if you still believe in his upside, and the return listed here was perfectly reasonable considering his low league wide value. Would I personally like to get more for him? Absolutely, but it's unrealistic.

I think the way you view a player and how they view it are two different stories.
He racked up 18 goals last year, 15 the year before. He's young.
My guess is he probably has an injury and no one is really saying that at this point. Did they shop him, maybe. But I can tell you now, But I can tell you now, if that was the price, he'd already been gone.
If they move him they will want a real return. Which they probably won't get which is why I don't see them moving him.
