With the amazing breakout season Holl is having, especially with that steal of a contract, Dubas should be fired if he loses him for nothing.

The alternative is losing one of Rielly, Brodie or Muzzin. Or protecting 4 forwards and 4 D exposing more forwards which I would be ok with. Like Kerfoot, Engvall, Mikeyhev... and dermott.

Leddy may be exposed, I do not think he will as Trotz and Lou choose to keep him over Toews. More likely Mayfield is exposed.

Well who would you protect then? Parise has 0 chance of getting picked by SEA. Might as well just waive his clause so MIN can protect a better forward instead. That would let Zuccarello, Eriksson Ek, Greenway and Fiala protected with your top 4.

Maybe, maybe not. If Parise doesn't waive (which is his right), it's a choice between losing Greenway or Dumba.

Wasn't it more a case of not being able to find a buyer for Leddy without it being close to a capdump? Mayfield with his low caphit is much more valuable.

Parise negociated his NTC to use it, and refused a trade to the NYI before. He wont "just waive his clause" to risk it.

That would be the obvious move, but Parise might not want to move from Minnesota when they're finally starting to be competitive, to go to an expansion team. Waiving his clause might not get him selected directly, but it would give Guerin the option of trading a good piece to Seattle to entice them to select Parise.

Not really, Lou said in an interview he could have move Leddy but they chose to keep him. Ideally they would still both be on the team but Andrew Ladd exists.
