If BUF trades Eichel you are talking about a sustained amount of time of the current dumpster fire. Elite prospects and picks are needed to get an elite 1C with 6 years remaining on his contract, not a hodge podge of guys that are nice but not difference makers.

The thing is, NYR don’t need Eichel at this point. BUF seems desperate to move him and recoup more than his value. These 2 teams are a bad partners for this deal. We look to be the best because we can even fulfill crazy demand of 6 1st round prospects and 4 1st round picks but the “cost” is just unrealistic. Another team will have to come along and say they just want to sell jerseys with Eichel on the back and then suck for 5-10 years
