Yeah I see the title but holy cow its hard not to - this is the best trade I have seen on this website in ages. I love this Canuck trade concept - and it makes logical sense for both teams.

Holtby's numbers reflect mostly the bad defense to start the year. He hasn't gotten many starts since the defense cleaned up in front of him. Compher I realize has not been that great for the avs this year and has a burdensome contract- so the lateral cap swap and a realistic replacement in Sutter. You're close to a winner. If anything, remove the pick swap.

Holtby is awful, he has been progressively worse the last 3 years, has another year left at $4.3M, Compher got healthy Bednar moved him to the wing where he is better and now he is producing. Such an easy pass for the Avs.

Holtby has had those same numbers for the last 60 games of his career and is at .905 sv% over his past 4 seasons behind mostly good caps teams defensively

Like...

It takes a few minutes to look these things up 😐

Francouz will be ready for the playoffs, surely?

Figured I'd get shot down. People never allow any room for positivity on any ideas on here. Every idea is always bad according to this community. Funny.

It’s not positivity it’s that Holtby is just not good, and in a flat cap time teams, especially contending teams aren’t going to roll the dice on older under performing more expensive players. If people comment you have created readable content, not some nonsense.

But I also think the vast majority of trades on here don’t fully take into account both teams long term needs and goals. For the Avs in the short term is Holtby better than Miska and Johansson absolutely, do the Avs have a place for him next season where they have Francouz under contract already and will want to sign Grubauer and have a GM that absolutely hates spending resources on anything resembling a 3rd goal tender. Again I appreciate everybody that posts.

Because I’m right about Holtby and the Avs not wanting to have a thing to do with him. Sure your trade is useless to them, thanks for agreeing. High five!
