That's fair. It's just the scenario here.

The reports are saying that they won’t even get a late first. Rentals don’t get first rounders unless they’re extended.

With a flat salary cap, I'd think UFA's would be worth more now. That's my opinion, but there's nothing that proves either way.

Unless you work out a reasonable extention with him, it makes absolutely no sense to trade a guy who might be better than Palmeiri one day for rental Palmieri. MAYBE Liligren for him, but any better prospects and leafs will just look elsewhere. I doubt when Dubas said he'd give up a top prospect it would be for a rental.

I personally think he’ll be traded for a 2nd and a b prospect. Could get a late first but nothing else with it imo.

But Robertson is the leafs best prospect. Why is he not in the dream section, rather trade Sandin or Amirov.
