Yeah this one doesn't make sense. Right now though I doubt you'll get better than a 3rd. You are only moving him if he is going to test the market and if that's the case your hands are tied.

Not really. A third at best probably never plays for us. Unfortunately our other goalie options are currently 1-18-3 on the year. If the return is that crappy, id rather keep him and see if he can keep us in some games (he is 8-6-3). Im not on board with just taking crap back to say you got SOMETHING.

Horrid trade for Buffalo. Don't know if have watching Leafs games or not....but Spezza is not a centre this year, and Engvall seems entrenched as a centre.
So it's Laughton for Kerfoot. Kerfoot has been fine this year and with the trade you miss quarantine time.

Why would we consider it fruitless at any point? When has Linus said he wanted to leave? At what point could they even have talked extention with him yet for you to gain this knowledge that he spurned them? You cant just say "lol sabres bad" to make up opinions of players youve never met. Its also not worth a 3rd to finish the season with Tokarski/Houser.

He's a pending UFA and your team is staring down a rebuild again. If your GM isn't trying to get him signed right now or at least getting an idea about what it would cost or if he even wants to come back, he really is terrible. I don't think he is. So by Monday he should have that answered. If I was Adams I'd have it done by Monday or I would trade him because I think you'll know already whether it's even possible.

What's it going to cost to sign him? Either his agent has already given a number or they are talking it over and haven't given the team an answer and if that's the case you almost have trade him unless that number is provided by Monday. I don't think Buffalo can afford to let any UFA walk for free right now. The team is really in trouble. For crying out loud, next year they are in an even worse division than they are now. Thinking you can some how salvage this mess and be a contender any time soon is just ridiculous.
