I doubt the Devils pick up that cap hit for just a 2nd round pick. He's got one year left, they should probably just buy him out themselves.

Nothing that VAN would be willing to trade. Kadri’s contract dovetails perfectly with Newhook’s expected progression into the 2C, and factor in his cap hit, importance to the Avs and you get something worth more. For what it is worth the proposed trade is atrocious what possible value do the Avs get? Virtanen is at best a 3rd liner in COL, Rafferty is a 25yr old dman where the Avs are deep and 2 non 1st rd picks. That would be a no.

A 2C for the Avs so if you want Kadri, JT Miller has to be coming.

Avs are not in the business of weakening their rosters for a collection of futures and lesser parts

Kadri is definitely worth a lot more than that. Even if he was constantly getting suspended again once he was back North of the border, he's worth more than that package.

Don't think Canucks should be giving away futures for one year of Kadri. If Avs can fit him into their cap, they probably want to keep him for a playoff run next season instead of futures.
