Kotkaniemi for Dahlin

Created by: DJPaulyB
Team: 2021-22 Montreal Canadiens
Initial Creation Date: May 4, 2021
Published: May 4, 2021
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
We lose Chariot to Expansion, Caufield gets the number 8! With our center depth, I dont see why we should hang on to KK. We are in dire need of an offensive puck moving D man. Buffalo gets a young center from the same draft and a 1st round pick back, as well as a veteran presence who is a great defensive forward in Byron. Drouin doesnt want to come back, we trade him for a draft pick and some money. Yes i do think he is worth atleast 1st. He has 2/3 years on his deal left and he can get you atleast 40 points. Great passer and a proven playoff performer.

Not saying you should trade for him in any way but dude.... You're pathetic thinking MIN has a thousand better wingers than Drouin. Like c'mon dude. You have a few good players but beside them your forward group is trash. Getting a decent 1st C and they might be interesting to watch but.... Yo Rask was a big dumb cap trash last season. Things haven't changed. Win something and we'll be able to talk man to man properly. There is a reason Drouin was drafted 3rd overall. Does he have skills? Plenty! He's he lacking something? Definitely. Does that means he's bad? No human is perfect dude.

Yak was drafted 1oa, Bennett 4oa, Dal Colle 5oa, Chucky 3oa, G.Reinhart 4oa; that's just +/- 1 draft year. Draft position means nothing when it's so far removed from their draft year. It's a fallback people use when trying to prop up a bad asset.

Rask is garbage, most MN fans will tell you that. Drouin has an unsustainably bad s% this year; that should rebound next year. He can still make passes, but he's overpaid for what he is as a player: .5ppg o-zone winger.

    Dude drouin is trash

Kaprizov, fiala, zuccarello, greenway, are a million times better than drouin

    Spare me with these

Win something? Where is Montreal this year?

    Headed to lottery

Clearly you haven't watched wild with these trash comment.

Your bashing if wikd , & its players are funny considering wild are in playoffs, & Montreal isn't

Kaprizov is / was playing with rask yet led wild to playoff

Do tell which wild foward are trash besides rask

Yeah it is. Only thing that bugged me was that one guy saying Drouin isn't worth Rask. That's a joke imo.

To MN he's not. It's not about quality of player so much as team need/fit, cap space, etc.

Ehh...I guess. Although I'd rather try Drouin as center for Kaprizov if possible. Might not work, but imo the level difference would justify it.

Imo Rask is close to valueless. Gaining something positive is a win - no matter really what that something is.

I wouldn't say Drouin is a negative value asset in any way.

Your point about wild being decent to watch shows you know nothing about wild

Wild are one of the better teams in NHL this year, & being talked about by everyone

Wild are one of the more scoring teams in NHL this year even with, / inspite of rask

I would love to know in that mind of yours how wild wingers kaprizov, fiala, zuccarello, Jordan greenway, Marcus foligno, nick sturm, Adam Beckman, matt boldy, etc are just average wingers, & wild wings outside of kaprizov are trash according to you

Player for player he isn't, but given Wild lack of depth at center and over abundance of left shot wings I think it's a fair argument.
Any trade for Drouin will require a bit of faith that he will rebound, he probably will, but first why did he crash.

Drouin is on leave of absence
    Inconsistencies play since Tampa
Is a winger. Not even better than Marcus Johansson who was playing amazingly with fiala since returning from injury

Drouin has multiple years left on his contract
    His age
    He's very undisciplined
No matter what we fans say about rask, wild coaches trust & love him

No, wild don't need drouin who hasn't played c in forever when they have Joel Eriksson Ek, marco rossi, Alexander khovanov, marat Khusnutdinov, & two 1st round pick to select another c , or they can sign one in free agency

Because Habs when they're not successful is most likely a disastrous and toxic environment to play in. That kind of pressure for a pretty much home-town boy must be absolutely immense.

His stint in TB proved he ain't mentally the strongest guy in the locker room. If he's made out to as the scapegoat of their lack of success it's no wonder the guy breaks at some point.

I do imagine that's the reason he's taken a leave of absense - dunno if it's true but it's the most logical thing to speculate about.

I wonder what people mean by rebounding honestly...he's always been a 40-50 point winger. Statistically speaking this year on a normal length would lead to a similar kind of season, at least based on PPG.

Statistically speaking what is average for Drouin is the ceiling of what Rask did achieve in Carolina. And this is why I do believe Drouin's abilities to be much higher than that of Rask's.

We don't know why he's on leave of absence. Perhaps he broke under the pressure, perhaps he didn't. But it doesn't matter here.

And once again - I never said Wild needs Drouin. I only said he's better than Rask and if I had to choose between them I'd rather have Drouin as that center - even if he isn't a natural center...

You realize he has years left on his contract? His play, & the fact he's inconsistent, disappears, & doesn't play defense is a nono.

You aren't going to play on Guerin's play, & get away with it / expect to play

Wild especially Bill Guerin doesn't like the type of player drouin is, or his contract, same with Sean Monahan

    Respectfully, no to drouin.

In this covid world, & this environment Montreal is going to pay a team like the devils to get rid of him

    We are fans. Big difference

Wild coaches love , & trust rask,, j& how smart he's

Wild coach made that clear the other day fans don't see what coaches see in rask

Rash has gone from playing with kaprizov to playing with fiala, & all of sudden rask & fiala has clicked alsp

Look up wild records vs. Winning teams like vegas, & Colorado..

    Wild have beaten this teams

Wild have a winning record vs. Vegas so you are blatantly wrong about your comment
