Description

Flames select Kent Johnson in the 2021 NHL Draft.

The 21/22 season goes poorly and for the 1st time in franchise history the Flames win the draft lottery and select Shane Wright.

The team fails to come to terms with Tkachuk on a long term deal so he takes his QO of 9mill. If things go poorly in the season, the Flames can trade him at the deadline in an attempt to position themselves for Bedard/Michkov.

Dawson Mercer and a 1st for 1-year of Gaudreau?
Maybe one of those two, but certainly not both.
Think closer to Taylor Hall deal (Bjork + 2nd).

Ownership really has to consider a full rebuild, considering what’s at the top of the next two drafts. It has the ability to completely reshape the look of the organization, which coincides nicely with the new arena.
