A few thoughts I had about Trouba. Let me know what you think

SEA
  1. Trouba, Jacob
Additional Details:
First question: is there any way you could see Seattle taking Trouba. I don't know what the return would be, if they see it a cap dump or maybe rangers get a pick but clear his cap. With Seattle starting from scratch, Maybe they might take on the big cap hit? Would Rangers even want to move Trouba at this point if they could?
2.
NYR
  1. Eichel, Jack
Additional Details:
Would Trouba ever make it into a trade for Eichel. Its a solid, although overpaid player and leader for Buffalo and would help the rangers with evening out the money. Would also allow Trouba to stay in New York. Probably unlikely the Buffalo wants to take on too much money for Eichel in return but it would certainly help the Rangers long term. Would either team do that in a trade for Eichel (with other assets) ? If the rangers take on Ristolainen too is it more feasible? Just a thought I had

As long as Trouba's girlfriend can get a job in Seattle, why not...it's a big US city...esp as Trouba hasn't played well in NY

But no one wants to play for BUF as those owners are the sh*ts

I mean do your thing, but if the roles were reversed and the Rangers were trading Eichel to the Sabres is there anyway you accept less than a return that features Lafrienere +? I mean truly honestly, would you trade not only your best player but your best player since Hasek for another teams 3rd or 4th best young player prospect as the core of the trade?

It's basically impossible to move Trouba

He has a NMC and wants to stay in NYC

I was pretty sure this was a thing, asking more about purely hypothetically, does Seattle or BUF even have interest in this if he were to "waive" for whatever reason? Was just curious, I don't expect Trouba to actually move but I think it would be interesting routes to try and explore

Rangers are pretty much stuck with him, In a flat cap era not too many teams willingly want to take on 8’m for 5 more years with a nmc

Rangers hope is he plays better to earn that value

I mean I would ask for Laf but I don't think the rangers do that. I think this comes down more to a futures deal. I also wasn't really putting much attention to my Eichel trade here, more just asking about Trouba. But if Eichel moves, my guess is it'll come down to NYR or LAK, whoever is offering more future talent

I doubt it. Trouba's contract is pretty bad. In an Eichel trade, the Rangers would have to add more on top of the package for Eichel to make the Sabres take Trouba. Seattle could be interested but the Rangers have to add a lot of incentives

No reason for Trouba to waive his NMC, He chose the Rangers for a reason as his Fiancee is going to be a DR in New York City. Only other team he may waive for is Hometown Detroit as they're both from there. Trouba from Rochester and Kelly from Bloomfield Hills.

trouba is a very classy guy. he wanted to give his wife the best opportunity for her career which prompted him to move to NY. Shes a healthcare worker so she would want to work where they have the best work, so NY, Oregon, DC, TExas, and florida

That’s fair. Tbh I’m just sick of Eichel trades that are either massive over pays or massive under pays. Ranger and King fans thinking they won’t have to give up a premium package including the Sabres choice of any prospect. Sorry for the rant.

Exactly a player with an NMC has to be protected

It's not her about her finding a job. She just started her residency which she has started now and depending on the specialty she has chosen it lasts 3 - 7 years. Do you know why Trouba's NMC didn't start until year 2? It was basically a trial period for what ever reason if it didn't work out no one gets screwed including Trouba's girlfriend.
