    Ottawa can’t even pretend they can trade for Eichel without Tim Stutzle being in the deal. Especially as a division opponent the trade cost is a bit higher than it is for other teams. I understand the Colin White would need to be included just for cap reasons, and Forsberg would help as a young potentially useful 1b goalie. But Tim Stutzle is the center of the deal.

    Spending two 2nd round picks to get rid of Zaitsev while they started last season with ONLY one top-4 D-man (Chabot) would be very very stupid, like even more than gifting away a 2nd round pick to get Stepan, or waiving Balcers to not waive Anisimov/Paquette/Galchenyuk.

    There's no rush to get rid of Zaitsev. Get solid D-men that will move him down the depht chart first.
