IMO, Doogie leaving won't criple the team.

That Barrie contract certainly might though.

Would it? It's only 100K more per year than what Dougie is currently making right now...

Going from one of the best defenses to a questionable one -- Slavin and Pesce are still great, but I don't love either Barrie or Pettersson.

Pettersson's a good player on a nice cap hit. I think that he'd look good next to Pesce. A lot of the value lost from Dougie's departure would actually be replaced by Reinhart more than a defenseman. In my setup, Barrie would be more of a luxury add at a neutral price (relative to Dougie's current cap hit).

Don't think Seattle will want 5.25m Skjei. Much better value elsewhere.

Skjei is likely the best defenseman available for Seattle to take if Minnesota can get Suter to waive his NMC.

Am I the only one thinking that is a massive overpay for Reinhart? Even with taking Gardiner...the Sabres would absolutely have to make that trade. Proba ly even for one less piece. Reinhart likely to go for TDL prices.
