1) Terrible offer for Giroux, the return is nothing
2) There is no way Ottawa wants to take on that cap hit, even if it's just for a year
3) Giroux doesn't do anything for OTT at this point. If PHI is out of the playoffs next year, their best return would be as a rental at the deadline.

No interest in trading for Giroux

Rather just sign him as a vet UFA after his contract with Philly ends

Not trading Greig to add a 33 year old on an expiring deal. I love Giroux, and get why Sens fans like the fit, but I don't think he's the guy. If he wants to come to Ottawa as a free agent next year, then ABSOLUTELY if the contract makes sense.

If Ridley Greig was born a month and a half later, he would be a top 10 pick in this years draft. He's lighting it up in the WHL as a 18 year old. No thanks for 1 season of Giroux
