How are people so hard on Rielly to throw him away for a 1st (he's worth way more than that), but so high on Sandin to put him in Reilly's spot? Sandin has 37 regular season and 1 playoff game of experience. He's not ready for top pair minutes. If you move Rielly now, the offensive production will drop significantly. They're not moving Rielly.

Oh, and if that was Rielly that made the mistake in the game winner and got blown away by Paul Byron last night, everyone would be saying how awful he is defensively. But when Sandin makes the ply no one says anything about it. Lmao.

It was Thornton who did the turnover and Byron is one of the fastest skater in the league

& see! The first excuse already!

It was Sandin's play to make to keep Byron from the breakaway. He didn't. Reilly's made plays like that before and everyone tore him apart. People can't have it both ways.

Oh and Sandin was on the ice for a long time, and I'm not even a Leafs fans
But that was on Thornton, not Sandin

Even more reason that shows Sandin isn't ready. Shorten your shifts. That's not excuse. If you're tired or think you can't keep up, get off. You're only hurting the team. I'm not saying it's not partly Thornton's fault too, it is. But it's still Sandin's role and job to DEFEND the opposition from good scoring chances because he's a DEFENCEman. And again, if that was Rielly, everyone would be tearing him apart. It's ridiculous.
