Post Isles Series

Created by: ptownsoul
Team: 2021-22 Pittsburgh Penguins
Initial Creation Date: May 27, 2021
Published: May 27, 2021
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
- Goalie could be the big move Pens make this offseason. Not sure of Ducks interest in moving on from Gibson. Based on Hextall comment this season he values good goaltending so may be looking to move on from Jarry after one season.

- Simmonds would be Hextall connection signing. Pens keep getting beat up in post season and not sure who else, that plays physical, is out there that they could get on a discount.

That doesnt even get the phone picked up, Not even considered by the Ducks

Drew O'Connor is nothing near a "High-End Prospect", PIT doesnt have any high end prospects

No even close to a high end prospect. Sam Poulin maybe gets some attention that is about it. I could see us trying to sign Ullmark though. Buffalo letting him test free agency and his numbers honestly are good for such a terrible team.

Jarry had a rough series for sure, but come on I think Pittsburgh's looking for a scape goat. He's young and still has potential to get better. Plus, they never really had a choice but to play him. I would have rode him as well over playing Lagace. You guys had DeSmith injured and if he was healthy they likely would have pulled Jarry.

Anyways, best of luck next year. smile

Hes a top prospect in a system devoid of league wide top prospects...

A better team than this year? A year older definitely, but not better.

Simmonds has little left, friedman as a starter? Definitely a worse team than this year

The pens aren’t protecting Matheson over Pettersson. Matheson’s contract protects him already so there is no point in exposing our best trade chip for free to protect a player that Seattle isn’t taking anyway.
O’Connor isn’t a high end prospect in any universe. He has a ceiling of 3rd liner and that’s being generous. Try Poulin, Jarry, and a 1st as a starter.

You're way off on the value of a number one goalie. But even if you weren't, by your own terms, that offer is absurd.

Jarry isn't a "starter quality goalie" by any stretch of the imagination. If he were, why would you be trading him away?

O'Connor a "top end prospect"? Your own piss-poor prospect pool has SIX forwards rated more highly than him: Poulin, Miletic, Bellerive, Puustinen, Legare and Zohorna - none of whom is even close to the quality of Zegras, Lundestrom or Comtois.

And a pick in the high sixties is "a draft pick" in the same sense that a Pop Tart is "a meal."

For that return, try up the coast. I hear that Martin Jones is available.
