Description

What players should the Sens target for a spot in the top 4 defense? Preferably a right shot that has good metrics, still relatively young (under 30) and can play at the speed the league is at right now. The Sens could have room for one additional player on their Expansion protection list and other teams may be forced to move players they can't protect or based on positional needs.

Seems like everyone in Calgary not named Tkachuk, Giordano or Markstrom will be made available. An owner and management group that isn't happy and wanting to shake things up massively seems to be one that can make rash decisions.

I think it would take way more than you would be willing to give up for Grzlecyk.
He was the reason they were comfortable not resigning Krug, and they appear to be right as he doubled his offensive output when given the opportunity.
He is signed on a good deal, his Dad is a longtime employee and he was a major factor in the Bruins not trading for Eckholm, as they would have lost Grz to Seattle.

and you wouldn't do that? seems pretty reasonable to me Sens have a need for a top 4 stay at home defense its obvious. this year with the amount of movement that happens around the expansion draft and with a fair bit of cap space could be an opportune moment to acquire one of these guys while in their primes. there isnt a whole lot of experience on the backend and i personally am not wanting to see Gudbranson Hainsey type guys come onto the roster and not do much.

thats a bizzare thing to say.. tkachuk is more available than lindholm, giordano wont even be protected from seattle and markstrom is nearly immovable which is fine. calgary untouchables stop at lindholm at this point, maybe andersson/hanifin cause of their deals but giordano is a weird one to throw in there.

thats just not the case at all... hes declining, cost 7 million and isnt worth protecting over hanifin, andersson or tanev. if hes the heart of the team then its a good thing he would be shipped to seattle cause the flames sure need a resurgence.
