Flames will protect Tanev, that isn’t close to enough for Ekblad, and that’s too much to dump Lucic, who we likely won’t be dumping anyway at this point. He’s certainly overpaid but at least he’s reasonably effective as a physical presence who can score occasionally on the 3rd line, no need to trade a veteran like that, especially considering we probably lose Gio to Seattle.
