Description
No idea on the value for the kings trade, just looked at Scott wheelers prospect rankings. Wanted to lineup Kap and Fiala contracts with the ending of Suter and Parise contracts. Is this correct that they would be RFA’s after a 4 year deal? Mark alt signing can just be anybody at leauge min to be our 7th D.

Kings need a LD for Doughty, they are pretty set on the right.

No chance Wennberg gets 6 mi. He had a good season after being bought out by Columbus but no team is going to invest 6 mil over 4 years for a middle 6 forward and he would need to prove that his play is sustainable before he gets 4+ mil over multiple seasons.

How is Wenneberg getting more than Kaprizov?

Dumba is a poor fit for the Kings. We have Drew Doughty mentoring Sean Walker and Matt Roy on that side, with Jordan Pence, Brock Faber and Helge Grans on the way up.

I still see Dumba going to Arizona in some deal for Nick Schmaltz or to Philadelphia for that draft pick (one way or another).

Kaprizov and Fiala would be UFA at the end of the contract because they would both be over 27 at contract expiry.

This is why anything less than a 6 year contract for KK should be considered trouble for the Wild.

Kinda just threw out a random number for Wennberg, had a good season didn’t know how much he’d cost

We would have almost 70 million available in cap space to re-sign KK if we sign him to a 4 year deal.

I'm glad you brought this up, because I was wondering about this the other day. That Philly pick is a 14th OA. Do you think they'd trade Dumba for that pick straight up? The reason I ask is because I've tried doing proposals where Dumba goes to AZ for Dvorak 1-1, and nobody seems to like it. But if it were a 3-way, where AZ gets the 14th overall pick, they'd have to consider that for Dvorak, no? They forfeit their 11th OA this year, so they don't have a 1st at all, which is really bad for a team that relies heavily on drafting and developing. Even if MIN needs to incentivize a little more, I think it'd be an interesting concept to explore.

Yes, I'm convinced that there's a deal here somewhere. I proposed a trade earlier where Minnesota traded up from one of their late firsts to the Philadelphia pick, but it didn't get much response from people whose opinions I put a lot of stock in. Dumba and the Pittsburgh pick for Allison or Frost and the Philadelphia pick seems like an exchange beneficial to both sides.

And note that because Arizona doesn't actually pick in the #11 slot, the Flyers' pick is actually #13 overall even though it's in the #14 slot. According to what I've seen, centers that could be available there are Aatu Raty, Cole Sillinger, Chaz Lucius, Xavier Bourgault, Francesco Pinelli, Colton Dach (Kirby's brother) and Zach Bolduc.

Very good point - I kinda blanked on that, but yeah it absolutely functions as a 13th OA. And yeah I kinda saw the same - like I know this draft is oddly scouted, but from everything I've read, there's still good talent there. It's not like it's just going to be an entire year of non-future NHLers. I ended up making the proposal we talked about, but now I'm curious about adding on with some of those other pieces (allison/frost). I do think there's definitely a MIN-PHI deal to be done. Throw in Fletcher and his love of Dumba, and it just makes even more sense.
