Both of these deals are terrible for Toronto. Starting another rebuild?

I feel like it’s hard to sell low on a guy who just won the rocket, ya know?

Muzzin and Tuch have comparable value imo. Glass and Theodore are valuable pieces, but they just don’t add up to Matthews. Obviously Matthews won’t be traded irl, but in our ACGM fantasy land, I’d imagine you get one more big piece out of Vegas. At least a first round pick in 2022, likely more.

Of course they are terrible. Any trade with those players is going to be terrible. That said, I think this team beats our current roster in the playoffs(not like that's too hard though).

Originally I had a 1st in there as well but removed it.

Oh, I'm not saying you "win" a trade with either of those players. Its impossible. But I kinda agree that at least one has to go, and I think its Marner. But you can get more than that. Dont think you can trade Matthews, way to important. Face of franchise.

Thank you, please preach this more, Marner is not going to be a Calgary Flame. We don't want him

Oh for sure. But in all honesty, the Leafs are built super weird and I think trading Marner for the right kind of return and freeing up money could do wonders. Hyman is more important to their success then Marner, they need to keep him.

Yes. I have argued against it since he signed that contract, but after this year's collapse, it's evident this team is too top heavy for this flat cap era. If the cap continued to go up it wouldn't be a problem, but it could be 5 years now before it increases by anything substantial.

I think the penguins deal is fair. I'm not sure they would do it though. It really depends what other moves they make this offseason.
They need to add some size, but it's the how part that is the lingering question. Someone has to go for someone to come in. I'm not sure they view ZAR as the "has to go" part of that equation. But maybe they do. I'm going to guess it's probably McCann, the constant fill in player at 3RW, and maybe Zucker. You'll also see some changes on defense mainly Matheson and Ceci. One gone because they can't afford him the other because he's out played his contract.
