Honestly, I don't see a whole lot to get excited about in an Aston-Reese-for-Mikheyev deal.

Mikheyev had so much potential. But that tendon injury has him done in.
That is so hard to fix. It's instant ruin. You either get rewired to tight, or not tight enough. Either way, you mess with the hands and you just can't move the stick normal.

you can't fix that. It's like trying to fix a snapped cable on a bridge without replacing the whole wire, which you can't do.
It's why they were never able to help Bellerive. He can't hold the stick right to this day. You mess with tendons and scar down the hands and you're messed.

Depends on what his (ZAR's) next contract looks like. If a deal happened before the expansion draft, there would likely need to be some form of condition in there as Mikheyev is exempt.

Don't think the Leafs are in any rush to move him; despite what certain comments here would indicate, he's still an effective player. However, I could see them willing to make a change and think this is a pretty decent swap.

I like that Mikheyev for Aston-Reese swap. I would risk that.
