Remove the rival and division bias. What would Couturier cost the Rangers? I’m just curious.

If I'm being real, I don't think Flyers ever trade Couturier unless he notifies the team that he won't be re-signing. He's the next captain (if he stays). That being said, if he were traded, I think the conversation starts with Laf +. I would say Fox as the main piece instead, but I just can't possibly see Rangers ever trading him.

I see. Well if I had to pick the one untouchable on our roster I’d certainly pick Fox. How much do you think it’ll cost to resign him, $8.5-10 mil range?

Couturier would want around 8 million on his contract.

You think cause of the flat cap or just in general around $8 mil. I’d consider him around Mika with less offense but better defense and faceoffs. So I was expecting high $8 to $10 mil. Maybe we’ll be able to resign Mika at less than we initially were thinking then.

The wild would easily, very easily say no to this deal

Nolan Patrick doesn't have much value, he's not good

Shane G is a cap dump philly will pay teams to get rid. any of . That team won't be wild

So dumba will stay with wild unless ask for dumba is met

Hot take but you wouldn't have to add much if Couturier came with an extension. He is miles better than Eichel in terms of two-way play and I think that makes him much more valuable than he is given credit for. Take out Konecny and its fair value wise imo

He could probably get more.... I mean like RNH is about to get like 8 mil.

Better question: What's the AAV at 6 years you think his contract becomes a negative value?

On flat cap i would say he's around that 8 million but without flat cap i would say 9 million something. This is just my opinion so some may disagree. Also you can't really compare Mika and Coots they are completely different players with diffrent skill sets.

Unless he was overpaid from the start, I don't think he will deteriorate so hard after 6 years. His game is a defensive one and net front scoring, not speedster or overly physical. Only real concern for him has always been concussions.

I follow. I was just looking at it from the perspective of them being a number 1 center for their respective team.

I would say he's going to get 8,5-9,5 million if he signs somewhere else than Philly. with a 6 year contract i would say the last year could be bit overpay for his production.

But wait if Couturier comes with an 8M$ extension then the Sabres would need to add some assets *along* with Eichel I'm totally serious here 😐

    Last 4 seasons:

    Eichel 242 pts in 233 g p

    Coutu 252 pts in 276 g p

Couturier is a yearly selke finalist & corsi dynamo

Could not be more unfair to Patrick who is only 23 and just had a very tough & disorienting year lost due to injury... yeesh... cut him a tiny bit of slack?

Many players peak after 24 it's fairly common

Once he moves on from the injury he should be 💯

I see a trade that involves Morgan Frost and a pick would be a good starting point. Maybe their first for our second round or something along those lines. Dumba is what he is and you know what to expect and you know what he is capable of. As a GM you can't take an unproven rookie without the protection of a pick. While Morgan Frost has the potential, you can see that potential isn't everything. Nolan Patrick I thought was going to be a star in the league and be a high end no 2 center. Hopefully he bounces back but he may need a fresh start. I like Dumba going to Philly and they have assets we need. Just think a few things need to be changed in a trade with Minny.
