Making this trade is more about Vancouver getting a guy who is closer to being ready to play a top nine role. It allows them to put more focus a proper plan for the development. Olli has been pushed out by Rathbone and injuries, Jake is part of the deal because if things go they way that have with others accused of the same in the NHL he needs to to moved out an FLA has been interested in him for a while

So why would FLA want your garbage? Until Virtanen is either cleared or convicted, no one in the NHL is going to touch him. And Joulevi isn't making FLA's top 6 D.

Lundell is the type of player who can help the team make a more competitive top 9 and he’s younger. And with the swapping of picks you can use Fla pick to draft a D

Whether they keep him or they trade him until things are decided the decisions are going to be the same around him. If he is cleared of the charges it means that he’s already been traded away to a team and it doesn’t it does not affecting his play there, if he is convicted and then the NHLPA rules dictated this contract is just null and void and his cap hit doesn’t go against the team he’s on.

Even if he's cleared, his play hasn't dictated being worth this type of return. And neither has Juolevi. FLA isn't giving up Lundell for this type of package, even with the upgrade in the first.

Right now you couldn’t give Virtanen away and there is no way Florida touches him with a 20 foot pole
Florida might want Beagle or Roussel over Virtanen lol

Virtanen is garbage and Juolevi is borderline NHLer. Lundell is awesome and better than Vancouver 9th this year let alone throwing in another first rounder? Canuck fans still don't get the fact that their deadweight contracts are not assets and you will need to pay people to take virtanen, Beagle, et al off your hands. Not recognizing this is why toffoli is lighting it up for the Habs in the playoffs.
