You're going to have to add a lot more to this roster if you want to make the playoffs.

i think the potential is there, the same roster finished the year 10-4 and if they didnt go 2-13 in their first 15 games they would have been around .500. They need guys to take steps forwards but its a young team i dont think its totally out of the question

Not that much. You add Sanderson at the deadline. You only need 1 top 6F and you’re good. Formenton-Pinto-C. Brown is an elite 3rd line and Paul-White-Dadonov as a really good 4th line. Tkachuk-Norris-Batherson as the 1st line

I see most people pencilling in Pinto to a roster spot and I just don't think he steps right in without a year in Belleville. I feel the same with JBD. There is no rush whatsoever to plug them in. I'd rather them learn in top minutes in the AHL. While I think they will be competitive, another top 10 pick in 22 would be great considering how good the class is. I believe a long term partner for Chabot should be the priority.

he stepped in at the end of this year pretty seamlessly so i dont think its crazy to think he makes it next year, especially considering the lack of centre depth we have

Lots of prospects sign from college and look good for 10 plus games. Maybe he is ready for full time. But it wouldn't shock me if he started in Belleville. To me, lacking centre depth isn't a reason to play a young player. Sign a 27 year old vet and let him hone his game in belleville. If he's ready in Jan, then call him up.

I agree with you about JBD, but Pinto was absolutely an NHL player when he showed up. His game away from the puck is NHL Ready, and I think he benefits more from playing in the NHL vs the AHL. I don't agree with people suggesting that he's gonna come in and be a top 6 C, but he's absolutely capable of coming into a 3rd line role with a bit of time on the PP and PK.

He had 7pts in 12 games while looking really good defensively and excelling on the PK. He’s not getting AHL minutes. JBD should play in the AHL for at least half the year imo

The potential is absolutely there, but at the same time you can't rely on it to improve the team, you have to get players that have actually met their potential.

That team is at best 5th in the Atlantic. On top of that you're banking on it being better than 3 of Boston, TB, Toronto, Florida, Washington, Pittsburgh, NYR, NYI, Philadelphia, and Carolina.

The Sens aren't better than any one of those teams.

i mean to an extent, again this near exact roster as they were/are closed out the year 10-4 so getting an extra year where these same guys can take a step is at least fair cause to be playoff hopefuls
