Why not see if it can work! Like all of these rosters, maybe 0.5% of this stuff will happen. Also giving Eriksson and Roussel the Hossa treatment and SEEYA to LTIR. Because come on, Vancouver's gotta get smarter and take advantage of obvious cap work arounds like other teams eventually right!? We are going playoffs or bust here!@ Probably bust and set everything back by 10 years because it's Vancouver.

You forgot Hoglander on that Eichel trade, while also taking back Cody Eakin's contract.

Maybe, but 2 firsts, a second, and a really solid goaltending prospect is a lot to give a team thats obviously going to be rebuilding. I know Eichel is good, but Dipietro is gonna be a stud for someone. Won't be in Vancouver with Demko's extension.

Goalies are too unpredictable to be considered anything higher than a B level asset at best, until they've played 2 full seasons as a starter and been consistent. I think DiPietro will be good too, but until he has done it, he's not a top asset.

True, I contemplated putting Horvat in the trade over Dipietro. But I didn't like it.

Ya, and over the course of Demko's contract is he going to out perform Demko enough to displace him as the starter? Who knows? But I am very confident he'll make a great trade chip now or in a year or 2.

Detroit will accept that deal, unless they'll run into the 50-contract limit with all the other cap dump deals they've been offered.
