And…. It doesn’t make sense
If we can’t win with Eichel, what difference is Marner making?

And it would have to be a SIGNIFICANTLY better offer than anyone else to even consider it

i dont think youre trading eichel with the thought of trying to win anytime soon, also with LA confirmed to not be going for eichel, it changes things

And you’re right, we aren’t gonna be winning anytime soon
Which is why a big ticket player like Marner makes no sense as part of the return
We’d just be wasting him for 3+ years

And i know for a fact he’s been calling Buffalo for 2 YEARS trying to get Eichel
Doubt he just suddenly changed his mind

And ZERO INTEREST in Marner
You guys aren’t getting Eichel
Especially not with us holding half his salary

This is always what GMs tell reporters. They leak stories to get the narrative they want out therw as a negotiating tactic. It means absolutely nothing. It's gamesmanship. Nothing more. You think LA is going to leak: "We absolutely have to get Eichel! He's our top target!"?

Unbelievable what some people will believe. Use you brain. Everybody lies.

Yeah But Marner isn't going to do anything for them. If they aren't able to build a team around Jack Eichel, they certainly won't make it work around Mitch Marner. Marner isn't a put the team on his back type of guy. Buffalo is far better off targeting picks and prospects and reloading to target the primes of Dahlin, Power, Cozens and the crop of high level talents they get for Eichel and Reinhart.

weird they got robertson and a 1st in that trade, an arguable top 10 prospect in the league
