Team: 2021-22 Philadelphia Flyers
Initial Creation Date: Jun. 14, 2021
Published: Jun. 14, 2021
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
For the sign and trade, not much value based off of the now known fact Dougie is talking to other teams. I believe that offer would be the most they would get for this specific situation and even if its more than this no other team really could match what the Flyers COULD offer.

Not sure I like trading Sanheim for Ekholm. Nashville clearly wins that one. And Patrick AND a 1st just for Hamilton's rights? One or the other should be more than sufficient. Also that's too much for a bridge for Hart; at that price you better be buying UFA years (5+ year contract).

Absolutely no need to give up anything close to that for Dougie's rights. If you're willing to pay him his asking price, you'll probably be able to get him.

The last few sign and trades have been late round picks. Unlikely to give up anything more than a 4th.

Lmao, yeah I'd take that for Dougie's rights. I've said this in most of these threads, but I say it here too. If you give him 8 years, you will not have to give him 9 million AAV. He is probably expected 8-9x7, so if you'll only have to give him 7-8x8

If he’s such a great Dman why would the flyers move him, he’s cleared waivers, so if 30 GM’s passed on him for free, why would Edmonton give up a asset for him, without major salary retention he’ll remain a Flyer and even with retained salary the oilers still aren’t interested, teams looking to get to the next level aren’t looking for reclamation projects with high cap hits.

he cleared waivers back in February and then he was arguably our best dman the rest of the season (which isn't saying much) but he brought up his value with his play 100%. I bet he wouldn't go through waivers again. One less year on his deal, a player who can QB a PP1, and in a full season was on pace for almost 20 goals. There is value there, believe me. If I didn't think we needed a major shake up, I wouldn't want to get rid of him.
