Paying everything they have for Eichel

Created by: Mediumyeet

Description
Boston doesn't have much time left with Bergeron and Krejci. I think they should go all in for Eichel. Eichel would be an absolute star in Massachusetts. Drains the already bare cupboards for prospects but worth it for another shot or two at the cup with Bergeron also gives them a succession play and hopefully they can find a way to build around Eichel Pasta McAvoy in the future.

I think they should be all in for Eichel with pasta McAvoy Bergeron Marchand being the only guys not available in the package. Carlo ideally stays too but if he has to go then so be it. Still not sure they're able to come up with the best package but should take the shot at doing whatever they can.

They can find better quality elsewhere.

It would cost Pasta, and BOS isn't willing to do that so that's that.

I don't think that's that personally. Unlikely sure but there are other pieces that could potentially get it done.

It’s a lot of pieces, but not high quality
      Sabres will get better offers

And i doubt they’d wanna trade him to a division rival anyways

Ya they likely don't have the pieces but 1st round picks are valuable and unlikely anyone offers three of them.

Late 1sts aren’t that valuable though
Not saying it’s garbage, just an offer that’ll get beat

no there aren't. You don't have anyone who is good and young to trade. You have Pasta you have McAvoy. But BOS isn't trading McAvoy either and BUF has a ton of high draft picks buried on defense, they they probably aren't trading for McAvoy.

No guarantee they will all be late though. This team is aging that 2023 pick could end up being a decent pick (look at what happened with the sharks and the Karlsson trade). I agree that they'd likely choose an offer that has an a top end prospect and less pieces. But 3 1sts 2 prospects and a useful youngish roster player goes a long ways

I just feel like 1sts are highly valued on here until they are used In conversation for an Eichel trade. Then all of a sudden people seem to value them like they're 3rd round picks.

Idc if they’re “guaranteed” to be late picks or not…..
that’s what they’d be valued at coming from Boston

And i think this offer gets beat by a team offering better prospects &/or young players

      This offer isn’t “great”
And that’s what it’ll take to get Eichel

There’s VERY LITTLE chance that the Sabres trade him to a division rival anyways

I agree it's very unlikely they move him in division. He probably goes out west somewhere. I don't think the return is going to be as satisfying for Buffalo as people think though.

      We’ll see about the return
Many teams are gonna be in on it, so i think that should get us a very good return
If not…. we don’t HAVE to trade him
He’s under contract for 5 more years
It’s not like with Hall where we had to take the best offer at the deadline

I'm not a huge believer in chemistry but breaking up that magical top line seems like taboo or it would awaken an evil demon or something idk 😬

      What about this:
      March Berg Smith
      Ritch Eichel Pasta

Top line handles all the tough matchups

"2nd" line just goes out and scores like crazy

Ritchie a nice presence to not step on any toes or get in the way but fills in gaps nicely and skilled enough he can be a solid complement to their genius

      DeBrusk on a down year

      Studnicka is mediocre so far

Vakaanainen not lighting the world on fire

Those picks all quite late and the last two likely 31st

Buffalo simply can't justify that I'm sorry

let someone else pay a huge price for Eichel. If Buffalo can't find a partner and his NMC kicks in, it puts Boston in a good spot to get him for a lesser package. In a perfect world though, Barkov hits the FA market and Boston signs him.

It’s just a tough trade for the bruins to pull off without having a pool full of grade A prospects/young players It has mostly to do with the fact that they’ve have been consistently good (drafting late, trading picks) but it’s tough to compete with LA/NYR. Can’t see BOS even think about moving 88 or 73 either. @on3m4n has a good thought about Barkov, my fear would be that they have another good year and he stays, but we’ll see.

Ya I think Barkov is a low probability. With Gallant now in New York, have to wonder what his relationship with Barkov was like when he was the coach of FLA. Imagine Barkov w/ Panarin...WOW
