Ducks won’t move Drysdale or Zegras.

I mean I don’t really care because the Jets aren’t really in the Eichel sweepstakes, but Buffalo holds all the cards. They’re going to want a trade that fits their needs, which is a top young center if Eichel is leaving especially since their likely taking power (I wouldn’t). Anyways, he’s a top 10 center, there is no guarantee that Zegras will become a top 10 center

Drysdale is more movable than Zegras especially if they re-sign Lindholm.

But they really do. They’ve botched this whole relationship with him. And now the whole surgery or no surgery thing. That relationship is beyond repair.

People don’t get this...it’s extremely rare that a top 10 center with term is available in a trade. It’s pretty simple, he is going to get traded and there will be a team that gives one of their top prospects up for Eichel.

Ducks don’t want to give up zegras or drysdale. They’re not getting Eichel than. One of LAK, CHI, MIN will cave. It’s too good of an opportunity to pass up

That’s what I mean. You’re going to have to give up a very good young roster player or a top prospect going the other way. A top 10 c with 5+ Years on his deal is going to fetch a lot. Like I understand theirs bias involved because I would hate to trade Perfetti from a Jets point of view, but if it’s for someone as good as Eichel you get over it

They should trade Eichel if they're not dumb. If they don't trade Eichel this offseason, he'll have his NMC next season and can choose where he wants to get traded to. If the Sabres just keep him, his value isn't going to go up and they'll miss out on a big haul.

I think LAK or ANA are the most likely destinations

I can see Anaheim being interested in olofsson as well since they lack shooting talent.

It’s funny because not many teams have a prospect of Zegras or Byfield’s stature so cool you give up Eichel for another teams top prospect. Doesn’t mean that prospect is as good as others.

Also Eichel is unhappy, injured and has a 10M caphit. Oh and he’s never dragged BUF to the playoffs. If a team pays everything they’re stuck just like BUF is. You have to keep pieces around Eichel to make it worth it.

They’re dumb if they trade Eichel without getting a blue chip prospect/roster player . Someone will give one up, but if for some reason it doesn’t happen, the Sabres shouldn’t settle for less. Eichel has 5 years left on his contract, Buffalo has more leverage than you think, even with the NMC

He could choose his destination once the NMC kicks in
But let’s say the Sabres best offer isn’t where he wants to go
They can simply tell him he can either waive to go there….
OR he can just stay in Buffalo for 4 more years

If LAK give up turcotte, kaliyev , and a 1st they still have plenty to work with. Byfield, Eichel 1-2 punch. Plenty of talented D prospects.

And that’s fine. Only NYR and MIN could possibly have enough right now to become competitive with Eichel. BUF fans act like Eichel is a perfect fit for ANA when he really isn’t. Reinhart makes more sense because the price won’t be too much.
