I like that Reinhart deal a lot more than others I've seen.

I would hope that if the Canucks do acquire him, he would essentially force his way there and could be had at a discount like what you proposed. Say Reinhart's agent let's it be known that he's only willing to sign a long term deal with the Canucks and 1-2 other teams. That would significantly reduce Buffalo's negotiating power in the deal.

Same with the Anaheim deal. Awful. Also Manson has an NTC.

If he pulled something so unprofessional like that buffalo hangs onto him until the trade deadline and then sells him to the highest bidder. If he wants out now he plays fair and lets buffalo get its best offer.

Ceci would further prove our front office doesn't look at analytics whatsoever.

I would had for the Pens to get Risto, but if they did, Buffalo would have to retain for it to fit the Pens budget.

For that price you'd be hard-pressed to find many 3rd pairing dmen as good as Ceci. His regular season advanced stats were decent and his playoff advanced stats were very solid. That said, he's not going for less than $2M anymore. He did a lot to redeem his value.

I think there would still be some teams willing to pay a good amount for 1-2 years of Reinhart, so your right that's a pretty logical scenario as well.
