I do not want Eichel on the Wings for two reasons -
1. I'm in the camp that you should not pay any single player 10m.
2. Where the Wings are at in the rebuild, all adding Eichel does, is makes them a better playoff cannon fodder team, that still will not win a cup.

Drafting and developing is the path to cups and when you're REAL close, then and only then do you entertain making a blockbuster trade that hurts your futures to get you over the hump.

I'm saying the price for Eichel will be too high for Detroit. Why would they gut the team for Eichel? We're 2 years into a rebuild. It makes no sense.

Not to mention he's expensive, plus giving up future pieces would be bad for the rebuild, by the time the team is ready to compete eichel will be at the end of his contract, might get one maybe two good years out of him then he can walk. If the team is good he might resign, but for what it costs just doesn't make sense now.

We don't want Eichel. You may think we do, but it would sacrifice too many futures. We'd simply stay a mediocre team for an extra 5-8 years.

I agree but that's not the reason most Detroit fans don't want him. They don't have enough pieces in place to trade multiple assets for 1 player. I also agree with Letter_Kenny this isn't enough for Eichel. Cholowski has yet to prove he is an NHL defenseman.
