Could see this happening. Fleury for Pavelec and a third is fair value certainly, might be able to stretch the 2nd out of them too.

The only problem with this is we would have to extend Pavelec since he's a UFA, and we would have no goalies to expose.

This mainly depends on if A) Fleury would waive his NTC for Winnipeg and B) if they don't trust Hellebyuck as the next guy up.

I think Fleury would waive his NTC. they're an up and coming team and he gets his starting job back. Hellebyuck has been awful this year. doesn't seem like he's ready yet and Fleury would be a good in between guy until he is

Not disagreeing with you, I think Flower would be willing to go anywhere not in Vegas at this point lol.

I think pavelec still counts since he isn't a ufa until after the expansion draft. If that isn't the case though the Pens could always sign some career ahl goalie and use him as the exposable goalie.

Id imagine Winnipeg is a team fleury would waive for considering that goaltending is their only major issue right now.

"Hellebyuck has been awful this year. doesn't seem like he's ready yet". Is that the logic of your trade? Fleury and his 3.22 GAA, and Hellebyuck and his 2.80 GAA. Jets trade for Fleury and they would have to expose Hellebyuck, who seems to be lot more sensible option given his age, potential, and salary for any NHL team. Trying to fit the square peg (Fleury) into a round hole, isn't working.

GAA is a horrible stat to compare a goalie off of (more reliant of team defense and games played than anything else). Look at SV% instead... .908 for Hellebuyck, .904 for Fleury. Pretty negligible difference.

But I'm not convinced Winnipeg is interested in Fleury either.

mtdavis: Thanks for proving my point. One difference the Jets will notice is about 5m in salary.

Notice me stating that I don't think Winnipeg would be too interested in Fleury.
