Foote is over a Million
Goodrow is over 2.5 million
Not getting a 2nd for Palat on a cap dump
Not getting anything back if thats your Johnson offer

Why is Foote over a million? He's no NHL regular. Using Dermott as example he's likely to take that qualifying offer.

Goodrow is a bottom-6 player. Have hard time seeing him netting much more than this. If he wants more he's going, but if he wants to stay in the greatest team during the cap era he'll take a bit of a discount.

Palat had a career year. With one year left some team is absolutely certain to make a solid offer. This is lowballing, but TB won't net full value due to their cap problems.

You can drop the 4th rounder if that's a dealbreaker, although in my opinion it's not. Gaining two young NHL ready forwards and a first is a solid compensation for Kraken.

Foote is one of the best young Dmen in the league, he requires waivers next year and if Tampa wont play him next year, trade him. It will cost minimum 950K-1m to sign him and you can get a real pick back for him.

Goodrow is a high level 3rd liner and market value is 2.5-3 million - 2-2.5 is a discount

Palat is a great player, but still is cap dump - typical returned for a cap dump of a good player is a 3rd.

You are asking Seattle to take on Johnson salary for Raddysh [2nd rounder 4 years ago] and a 1st. I have my doubts they will even accept even if the 4th in returned is dropped.

Regardless, Dermott played 56 games last year in TOR with no AHL games in the same role as Foote did, but he still took that QO. Foote's 35 games and 6 AHL games with no playoff games is not better than that, and I can't see why he's suddenly getting more than that, even if he has value.

Goodrow is replaceable. If he demands more than $2M, he's not staying. Colton can take this role.

Palat is not exactly a cap dump as Tampa is not forced to move him. They can keep him and leave Coleman unsigned if necessary. He's almost a PPG forward. A good deal for him as a pending UFA is 1st+prospect given his performance, but I'm settling for a 2nd since I know TB is not garnering a full value. VGK had to deal a multiple year overpaid asset in Schmidt to somewhere for a third. Palat's value is head and shoulders above that even with TB's cap situation.

Raddysh would be a NHL player in virtually any other team that Tampa. He's already too good to play in AHL.

If you have to call up 1 player making the vet minimum the entire year, you will be over the cap in 16 hours

In what world is Cal Foote one of the best youg defensemen in the league?

What is young? He's played 35 games in the 4 years since being drafted

NSH declines. I could see them having some interest in Killorn, but not for Carrier.

Agreed... Nashville isn't trading a young cost controlled dman who really took a big step this last season for Killorn. Nashville would likely have interest in Killorn or Palat but they aren't going to trade a young roster player for em. Maybe something around Jarnkrok (even 1/2 retained so there's minimal impact on Tampa's cap situation) or Frederic Allard since he's seemingly fallen out of favor in the Nashville system for one reason or another.

Gotta be a player that'd have an impact in Bolts roster. Järnkrok works, Allard does not.

Allard and a throwaway draft pick would be fine. I'd balk at Jarnkrok though. Clearing Killorn's salary is the biggest impact TB can hope for here, I think. I wouldn't be interested unless NSH can acquire him for a song.

For TB the good thing is players like Killer and Palat who are most likely on the market have both played pretty good seasons so it's pretty likely there will be offers for both of them.

Allard+throwaway pick sounds extremely lowballing though. I'd wager half the teams in the league would outbid such offer.

That's fair. For me, I don't have much desire for Killorn, unless he comes so cheap NSH would be foolish not to do it. Half the teams might be a stretch, given how tight cap space is around the league, but I'm sure a handful of teams would offer more than I feel NSH should.

At the end of the day, Tampa has to clear Atleast two of TJ, palat, and Killorn.

One of the three is definitely going to Seattle. Johnson makes the most sense imo since they would have to pay to move him regardless. Not the case with Palat and Killer, but SEA might prefer someone like Gourde or Barre-Boulet due to more term and team control.

Honestly, I think the Oilers would take Palat for a 2nd in a heartbeat. I see Holland trying for whichever player would end up being exposed out of Killorn, Palat or Gourde (although it seems like he's safe). There's been rumors the Oilers might use their expansion situation to take a player from somewhere, but nothing concrete yet, which makes me think they're waiting for the Lightning to be done with the finals.

Keeping the 3rd line together would be great, but I'm not sure they value Coleman over Killorn. I agree that Palat should bring a 2nd+ though, and if Killorn is being traded, at least a 2nd+ as well in value(or if Tampa could make it work, a player like Jarnkrok with retention). I would not include Joseph in the Johnson deal though, as both his cap hit and ability will be needed moving forward. I'd offer the 1st+prospect for them to take TJ, with minimal, if any return.
