Description
I guess some combo of the guys I think will be gone and our picks will be used to acquire another top 6 or top 9 center imo. We need the cap to go up really bad.

Seems kinda premature to hand out contracts like that to K'andre and Laf.

Edit: NVM, didn't see the year

K’andre is already playing at that level. Assuming he doesn’t fall off. It’s fine. Laf on the top line will be putting up more points and who knows which PP he is on. Not that unreasonable to assume.

Don’t forget we are likely drafting a top C type player this year and maybe next year. Those prospects could easily fill in 3C in a few years

I really hope we send a big package to trade up and take Mason McTavish. I feel like he’s gonna be great.

I think if we grab one of McTavish or Raty, we’ll be good long term.

Is Trouba tradeable in 2023-24? I thought it was 2024-25.

NMC until 24-25. 15 team no trade list for that year. 12 for the next. Don't see him waving even though I expect Detroit to be a playoff team by then.

So he's not tradeable in 23-24 without waiving.

Someone’s gotta go. If he doesn’t waive, I’d buy him out cause we need the cap space and I’m not losing a young guy cause of him. Doesn’t matter how loved he may be. Team comes first.

SJS might want to trade down and pick up more assets. Theyre prospect cupboard is empty.

I wasn’t dealing in hypotheticals, I was tryna get a picture of what the cap would look for us. I don’t think we should trade for Hertl cause of the lack of cap space (he’s gonna want at least $7 mil, which we don’t have). We need another center on an ELC to play in our top 9.

No to move up to 7 OA for mctavish. I dont see LAK, VAN, OTT, or CHI moving down. By that time mctavish is probably gone.

I think if we included our first this year, Buch and Jones we could do it. Most of those teams are looking to progress their rebuilds.

I dont think it will cost that much tbh. Its a weak draft plus the scouting was all ****ed up which makes it easier to miss. Then add the fact that the dropoff happens right after the rangers pick (around 17-18 imo) and teams might rather move back and get a sure prospect (prospects bust obviously but its a sure thing compared to the draft). Also i wasnt saying prospect as only 1 but i think something around schneider and a pick could get it done.

I’d prefer to keep Schneider and Robertson cause they are bigger bodies who play physical and skate well. I’d prefer to move away from someone like Jones who is much smaller. We’d have Fox and Lundkvist as our smaller offensive minded defenseman. With Lindgren, Miller, Robertson and Schneider we’d have guys with size who can move well.

If it’s not them or another team it’s fine. We’d just buy him out at that point to create cap room.

I was just talking value. Also thought that since trouba cant be moved till 24-25, he would be that big guy who can move on the right instead of schneider. Maybe something around jones and a better pick.

Also for something completely random, what would kravtsov cost from the islanders this offseason (21). Obvs you would keep buch then.

I personally love Trouba. If he wasn’t making $8 mil I wouldn’t move him. If he was only making $6 mil I’d keep for sure cause I love how he lays the game with an edge. That extra $2 mil is the issue. Same thing with Kreider. Other than length of contract and maybe an extra $750k, if he was making $5.5 mil I’d love to keep him as well. The only problem is the damn flat cap screwing us over.

Honestly contracts aside, a pelech-trouba pairing would be so ****in scary to play against.
