Detroit declines, neither player nor return is good enough.

No we are not paying to get rid of Byron he is really not that bad. At 3.4 million for two more years he still has value.

No he doesn't. He's over paid and he had a bad year; he's a cap dump.

You misunderstood me. I’m not saying other teams should want to pay for him. What I’m saying is that it doesn’t make sense for Montreal to pay for someone else to take him. I’d rather just hold onto him for two years and then let them walk.To the Canadians his value is probably around 2 million. So to spend all these pics and players to get rid of a $1.4 million problem, it’s just not worth it

Winnipeg isn't going to give up their center depth that they searched for years to find, just months after acquiring it.

Primeau won't cost anything, sign Suzuki to a bridge deal like 3 x 6 and romanov 2 x 2.5 then trade edmunson and drouin or killorn and bring up ylonen and harris

Let the lacklustre dubios trades begin 🤦‍♂️. And yes, lacklustre. We just moved Laine+ for the guy, he’s not going anywhere for this.

Like you said, PLD is better so there is no point in downgrading the centre depth. Jets have solid LHD prospects -- where there is need is RHD (roster and prospects).

Yeah, but JK is a pretty significant downgrade from Dubois and you're not offering anything that Winnipeg needs to entice them to make the move.

Dude to us Paul Byron making 3.4 mil for 2 more years is a cap dump. Yzerman wont give up picks unless it's for younger long term assets even a 6th is a no go.

Why would u sign Suzuki a bridge ? Just to pay him more after ? Remember Subban ? Just give Suzuki 8 years at 7M per years and thats it

Yea I know Detroit is not giving anything for Byron. I get that , but what I’m saying is habs are not adding to him to get rid of him.

I would much rather the habs just keep him, because, as I said, his contract is not that bad and it’s not like he is useless. I would much rather hold onto to him for another year, and then see about maybe trading him when we need to resign Suzuki next summer. Next year it will only be 1 year left at 3.4 which is much more manageable and would not cost us as much if we absolutely needed to get rid of him them. But I’m not interested in paying another team to take him now especially when he is not useless. His true value is probably around 2M so we would need to find a 2M player and the savings would only be 1.4M. Next year, different story
