That's a fair trade, but Buffalo guys will say you have to include Hughes, too, because the Ducks are gonna give them Zegras and Drysdale and a better 2021 first-rounder, too (ha, ha).

Canucks decline. Pettersson's career numbers have been pretty much identical to Eichel's except Pettersson is younger, has Playoff experience and is already the face of the franchise.

Always injured? In the past three seasons, (his total NHL career), Pettersson has played one less regular game than Eichel.
Take away the first rounder it could be a fair hockey trade, but Canucks like Pettersson long term instead of Eichel.
