Hes probably gonna get more than league min. Depending on the bidding war I would imagine he'll get at least 2 mil

I put him at $3M. He's still a pretty good defender and if Hawks want him for 1 year, I'm sure 2-3M is what it'll cost.

Not a large min, but I would be willing to give him a size-able 1 year contract and trade him for a first at the deadline.

I was going closest to his home in Wisconsin, not named Minnesota, but never great at geography, with a little nostalgia of playing where his uncle played, and yes possibly Chicago will ante up a bit, but possibly a bit of a hometown discount.

Would be a not bad replacement for kieths veteran leadership also, could be interesting add going forward.

I made my own ACGM about 1 hour ago that's already on like page 3 lol but I did the exact same thing. Brought in Suter for veteran presence and discussed his uncle and being close to home.

Read between the lines, if he was a leader, he probably would not have been bought out.

Winnipeg is closer geographically to his home in Wisconsin than Chicago is. Eau Claire, Wisconsin is roughly 3 hours east from the Twin Cities metro area (Minneapolis/St. Paul) by car depending on traffic. That's roughly the same drive north to Duluth, MN from the Twin Cities too.

Winnipeg is something like 10-11 hours away. Chicago is about a 15-16 hour drive.

That is about the only reason the Hawks would have any interest. Trading a 37 year old defender to replace him with a 36 year old defender otherwise makes zero sense.

Genius kieth deal, if they can add suter on a veteran hometown discount deal, and cut payroll.

I would lean more to major franchise reset than bad leader, with a stalled cap, they needed to get there money to there youth and build from there. But I’m not in the room by any means

Winnipeg could use him, but probably settle for the lower level of ufas and get somebody in on the minimum or a 1 million.

What kinda traffic are you getting into where Eau Claire is 3 hours from the cities and Chicago is 15-16?!!!

Isnt he from Madison, which is a 2 and a half hour drive to Chicago? Or am I missing something?

None, the math is off the top of my head. I know for a fact that Eau Claire is 3 hrs though. I used to work for the Subaru/Acura dealership in White Bear Lake and would make that drive every time we needed to make a dealer trade with the dealership there in Eau Claire.

Leave at noon, get there by 3 pm, back around 6:30 pm. So rush hour times I guess? Chicago was purely a guesstimate based off that experience though. I'll readily admit I could easily be wrong about Chicago.

However, Winnipeg is closer.

He is, but if I remember correctly, his farm is somewhere around the Eau Claire area. Which is closer to Minnesota than Illinois. 🤷‍♂️

Eau Claire is 90 mins from the cities, I’ve made the drive hundreds of times, but never mind anecdotes, just look it up. Chicago is about 6.5 hours from St Paul.

Eau Claire to Chicago is probably under 5 hours. There’s no chance is heck Winnipeg is closer. Chicago by a good margin.

You gotta think not more than 3, right? He's already getting, what was it I read, 6.7 per year from the buyout? If he ain't happy with 9.7 mil a year, then **** him (taxes not withstanding). Also, Suter is quite the pylon compared to what he used to be, do we really need him taking minutes away from all the young defensemen who need to learn on the job?

The real question for me, is just how washed up is Parise? Minny has been the most forgettable team in the last 4-5 years, and Parise... I can't recall seeing him play. Is there any reasoning to looking to pair him with Kane, which is what Kane always wanted, on a cheap contract? I'm not saying it'a good idea, just throwing out the possibility for discussion (I really don't know how cooked Parise is).

I mean, Eau Claire is still only 5 hours. Either way I think its going to come down to money and term, not location

Chase a ring over location over term or money IMO, Vegas/col in west and Tb/nyi in east possibly
