Not sure how realistic all of these moves are but feels like you’d be hard pressed next season with a lot of these guys due raises and new deals - Tkachuk, Frost, Couturier, Giroux, Farabee, etc.

Deal with that when it comes time. Impossible to know what guys like G and Coots will want. Guys like Frost and Allison will likely get cheap bridge deals and Farabee somewhere in the Konecny range. Hayes doesn't have a full NMC next season so he could be moved.

Detroit declines. Remove DET 4th and change PHI 3rd to a 2nd and Stevie Y would consider it.

Interesting...getting a cost controlled winger replacement and a top 4 LHD which they need. I'd throw in a pick but other than that, I think it's close.

Nah. Not available. He doesn't want out and we are good on LD IMO even if Gio is taken

That's a hot take! You have nobody that can fill a top 4 D role.

Flames dont need a top 4 LD unless Gio is selecred, even then a stopgap or just promoting Valimaki to play with Tanev is way better. The downgrade from Tkachuk to Konecny is a pretty massive L

Like the team, but just can't see any team wanting 4.5m Ghost.
Fair trades for all teams in the St Louis and Calgary deals.

What has Valimaki showed you that makes you think he can play inside the top 4? He is neither a defensive stud nor offensive dynamo.

What has frost done to show he's a 2nd line center?

Valimaki was a freaking rookie last year, he has lots #1 potential.

Maybe he has potential but he sure hasn't shown that he can play top 4 yet. Frost is a skilled forward, it's a lot easier to plug him in between 2 good players than to have a kid try and defend some of the best players in the league.

Who is the last big name to sign in Canada...Tavares. The ONLY reason he did is because he is from Toronto.

That makes no sense, so Frost is ok because you can put some nice wingers on his line, but even though Valimaki has immense potential its a bad idea to give him a shot next to the best defensive dman in the league?

Markstrom and Tanev literally both just signed last year, RNH literally just resigned with Edmonton, at the very maximum Calgary just needs to sign a #4 stopgap

Being a forward is much easier than playing defense effectively! Did you just call Tanev the best defensive D man in the league? Woof!

Both guys moved over 1 province and RNH stayed with his current team. Not to mention you overpaid Markstrom and nobody else wanted Tanev.

He literally had the best defensive metrics in the league this year, you would know that if you did any homework at all

Lol, ok what about Holtby or Toffoli? You really dont get it, if Calgary needs a Gio replacement they only need to ve a short term stopgap since Calgary is extremely deep at LD
